YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk revealed the reasons behind refusing to drink with his disciples Big Bang. Yang Hyun Suk recently guest-featured on the May 14th episode of SBS‘s ‘Healing Camp‘ and explained the statements made by previous guest J.Y. Park.

Ahead of YG’s appearance, J.Y. Park had claimed that Yang Hyun Suk was extremely strict with his label artists, and that he keeps his distance from them. “I thought he would display that side of himself on K-Pop Star, but he was concerned over how nervous the contestants were,” explaining that he was frustrated over YG’s image on K-Pop Star.

“J.Y. Park is right, I am an intimidating personality within YG Entertainment,” Yang Hyun Suk admitted. “Big Bang and 2NE1 are professionals, so there would be some advantages for me to be a father figure to them. However, if that becomes the case, the managers will not be able to regulate. There needs to be at least one very intimidating person.”

“To be honest, I want to drink with Big Bang and go on trips with them,” he continued. “But we don’t. I’ve only drank with Big Bang once or twice in 7 years.” (newsen)

K-Pop Star winner Park-Ji-Min confessed that she did not like standing next to Baek Ah Yeon on stage during the audition program. Park Ji Min, who had made an appearance on the May 8th episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart‘ along with Lee Ha Yi and Baek Ah Yeon, revealed her role model to be none other than singer-actress Noh Sa Yeon, who also appeared on this week’s episode. ”I really, really like her. She’s very strong-willed and the way she’s always full of confidence makes me want to become more like her.”

As Noh Sa Yeon often jokes about her not so slim and feminine appearance on shows, the emcees questioned Park Ji Min if she had ever felt stressed about her appearance next to Baek Ah Yeon. The guests broke out in laughter as Park Ji Min replied with a deep sigh that seemed to express the emotions she had kept pent up inside. She explained, “Ah Yeon unnie has a beautiful figure- she’s tall and has a small face, but she’s always standing next to me! I really dislike that!”

Comedian Jung Ju Ri then remarked, “I heard this while I was in the waiting room today. After Park Ji Min saw Baek Ah Yeon in a tube top dress, she expressed her envy saying, ‘I would have worn a tube top dress too if I was skinny.’ This happened while she and Lee Ha Yi were eating cheese kimbap,” giving viewers another round of laughter. BoA expressed her sadness over the end of SBS K-Pop Star. On May 7, BoA tweeted First week without K-Pop Star. I was able to spend it well.  I almost went to Songdo [a city where K-Pop Star is filmed] but I woke up! I hope I can get use to all of this.”

In response to BoA’s shared sadness, many netizens commented: “I hope you return to season 2,” “I was also bored without K-Pop Star this Sunday so I re-watched last week’s performances,” and “Where will I see BoA now?”

Actor Will Smith attended the perss conference for his movie, ‘Men in Black 3‘, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Seoul and made the reporters burst out into laughter over his comment on the Wonder Girls. When asked who he thought was most like an alien, he replied, “I talked about this with my daughter and she thinks the Wonder Girls are like aliens.”

Will Smith remarked, “My wife and daughter are very interested in international music. They told me about Wonder Girls, and I am a fan. I’m very simple when it comes to my taste in music, and so I don’t know too much about K-Pop.”

Wonder Girls members Hyerim & Sunye walked the red carpet and joined Will Smith on the stage at Youngdeungpo Times Square. When asked why he was holding his world premiere in Korea, the actor replied, “I remember holding a successful promotional event for one of my movies 10 years ago in Korea. While working on this film in the States, there were a lot of talks about promoting in the world market. As Korea is one of the emerging film markets of the world, I felt that Korea would be most fit for our world premiere.”

He added, “This is actually my second time in Korea, as I previously visited the country during the World Cup in 2002. I’m here this time with my wife and daughter, and they’re both out enjoying Seoul right now. Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul proved he was a legitimate blood donor. On May 7th, Kim Heechul shared the photo above (right) via his official Twitter page and wrote, “Let’s donate blood. I was a bit embarrassed when I heard that my blood could actually save the life of another person… but anyway, let’s all donate blood. I feel good.”

BoA took to her Twitter to express the emptiness she feels now that the first season of SBS‘s K-Pop Star has come to an end. She wrote, “My first week without ‘K-Pop Star’. I think I spent it safely without it. Almost went to Songdo but I woke up and got myself together! I guess I’ll start to get used to it all. Everyone else as well.”

Considering that she was a judge for the past six months on the show, it’s no wonder she misses the show and Songdo, which is the convention center in which the live broadcast is filmed. Aoi Sola, who is a well known figure in the Japanese adult video industry, will be debuting her singing and acting in Korea. In order to debut as a K-Pop singer, Aoi Sola recently came to South Korea.  It’s been reported that she will be recording a music video at a night club in Ilsan, Kyung Ki Do on May 7th.  According to a representative, “Aoi is currently preparing for singing activities in Korea.  To officially prepare for her debut, she recently visited Korea.”

In addition, the music video will be featuring a famous dance team in Korea called ‘Love Cubic‘.  ’Love Cubic’ is a famous 5-girl member group that currently has a fan base of around 50,000. Furthermore, on May 4th, Aoi Sola tweeted, “I dyed my hair after 4 years for this project.  I am actually in Korea right now“, surprising many of her fans.

Aside from her planned activities in singing, Aoi Sora also has been cast in a future Korean movie called ‘Vacance‘.  It appears Aoi Sola will be debuting, both as an actress and singer in the near future. (osen)

Singer and producer J.Y. Park revealed his standards for selecting trainees for JYP Entertainment. On the April 30th episode of SBS ‘Healing Camp‘, J.Y. Park revealed, “My standards for selecting a ‘K-POP STAR’ winner are different from my standards for selecting a trainee.”

“I like the hopefuls who are natural, who cannot hide their real selves,” he continued. “Those types always stand out to me. I tend to select the ones that I can’t help but like even when just looking at them.”

“That’s why none of our artists do well on variety shows,” he added. “Jo Kwon is an exception, but if you get to know him, he’s actually really sensitive and introverted.”

“There may be artists under JYP Entertainment who are lacking when it comes to vocal talent, but none of them seem unnatural,” he said, displaying his pride in his disciples.
